The Opportunity:

This Teaching Assistant role offers the chance to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within a dynamic and supportive learning community. The successful candidate will work alongside dedicated colleagues to help young people achieve their full potential and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND in and out of the classroom to ensure they can fully participate in learning activities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop individualized learning plans.
  • Promote the welfare and safeguarding of students in accordance with the school’s policies.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and their families to help them navigate the school and wider community.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons and activities that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and carers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE qualifications in English and maths, minimum of a grade 4/C (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and take direction from teachers and senior staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in education or a related field.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in teaching.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Experience in working with young people in a school or educational setting.
  • A willingness to undertake further training and professional development.
