The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students in achieving their learning goals. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with additional needs, while working in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist qualified teachers in delivering a broad curriculum based on the National Curriculum.
- Support students both on and off-site during lessons and learning activities.
- Help students develop self-help, life, and social understanding skills.
- Work flexibly and effectively within a team, under the direction of a qualified teacher.
- Prepare and organize learning materials and resources for classroom use.
- Provide individual and group support to students with additional needs.
- Promote positive behavior and encourage student participation in learning.
- Support students in progressing through formal learning situations and programs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with young people with additional needs.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable students.
Preferred
- Experience in education or youth support roles.
- Knowledge of teaching strategies for students with additional learning needs.
- Experience with behaviour management techniques.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum and vocational learning approaches.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary of £21,257.47 for 37.5 hours per week.
- 5.6 weeks of paid annual leave with 7.4 weeks unpaid (term time employees).
