The Opportunity:
A Teaching Assistant is needed to provide essential support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across a range of learning environments. This role is vital in helping students achieve their full potential and contribute to an inclusive and supportive school culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals and small groups of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through tailored interventions and learning activities.
- Build positive relationships with students, promoting independence, self-esteem, and resilience.
- Implement personalised support plans, including IEPs, Pupil Profiles, and behaviour plans, under the guidance of the SENDCo and teaching staff.
- Assist in planning, preparing, and adapting learning resources to meet diverse student needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions and support both in and out of the classroom, including 1:1 and flexible support.
- Supervise students during structured activities, breaks, lunchtimes, and educational visits.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions, providing feedback to teaching staff and professionals.
- Promote the use of ICT to enhance learning and support student engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and equality.
- Flexibility and willingness to work both in and out of the classroom.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering targeted interventions or support plans.
- Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Experience with ICT and learning technologies.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
