The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students across all key stages, working closely with class teachers to assist with learning, behaviour management, and individual needs. This is a vital role in helping students build confidence, independence, and life skills in a structured and positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with their academic and personal development
- Assist class teachers with classroom management and behaviour support
- Build positive relationships with students and act as a role model
- Help implement individual education plans tailored to student needs
- Promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide guidance and support to students in developing life skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Encourage participation and teamwork among students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young people, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different classroom environments
- Commitment to student welfare and safety
- Willingness to undergo DBS and other safeguarding checks
Preferred
- Previous experience in an educational or care setting
- Knowledge of autism and Asperger’s Syndrome
- Experience with behaviour management strategies
- Familiarity with inclusive education practices
- Passion for working with young people with additional needs
