The Opportunity:

A Teaching Assistant is needed to support students across all key stages and assist class teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning experiences. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with autism, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support class teachers in delivering lessons and managing small groups of students
  • Assist with pupil behaviour management and promote positive interactions
  • Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with students
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a structured and engaging curriculum
  • Monitor and report on student progress and development
  • Promote independence and inclusion through tailored support
  • Work closely with other staff to ensure a consistent approach to student care and education

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • High level of patience and understanding
  • Commitment to supporting students with autism and learning difficulties
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed

Preferred

  • Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs
  • Previous experience in an educational or care setting
  • Knowledge of teaching strategies and techniques for students with learning difficulties
  • Experience in behaviour management and positive reinforcement methods
