Key Responsibilities:

  • Support class teachers in delivering lessons and managing small groups of students
  • Assist with pupil behaviour and promote positive learning environments
  • Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with students
  • Implement individualised support strategies based on student needs
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
  • Use a variety of communication and engagement techniques to support diverse learners
  • Contribute to the school’s focus on independence, inclusion, and education
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High levels of self-motivation and resilience
  • Patience and understanding in challenging situations
  • Commitment to supporting students with autism and associated learning difficulties
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from class teachers

Preferred

  • Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs
  • Previous experience in an educational or care setting
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies for students with diverse needs
  • Experience with behaviour management techniques
