As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs to access the curriculum and develop essential life skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students during lessons and help them make progress in formal learning and life skills
  • Assist teachers in preparing and delivering classroom activities
  • Support students in school-based and community-based learning environments
  • Work flexibly and collaboratively with teaching staff and other support teams
  • Promote positive behaviour and social understanding among students
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support where required
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • No criminal record that may affect the safety and welfare of students
  • Clean, current car driving license (where required)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Knowledge of autism or special educational needs
  • Experience in learning support or working with children and young people
  • Experience of working effectively in a team environment
