The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and students to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment, helping to shape the educational journey of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students by understanding and implementing their individual learning needs and One Plan.
  • Collaborate with SENCo and classroom teachers to ensure targeted support that enhances student progress and outcomes.
  • Facilitate reading programmes and other directed interventions, while maintaining accurate records and reporting student progress.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, tailoring assistance to meet their academic and personal development needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to ensure alignment with school goals and best practices.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission by promoting a culture of achievement, belonging, and opportunity for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and support staff.
  • Commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
  • Initiative and a proactive approach to supporting student learning.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Experience in literacy or reading intervention programmes.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
