The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with complex needs across all key stages. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young people's lives while working in a supportive and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting with learning and behaviour support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with their learning and behaviour across all key stages
- Assist in developing positive relationships with students and acting as a role model
- Provide individualised support tailored to students’ specific needs
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure consistent and effective support strategies
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of behaviour management plans
- Promote emotional and social development through structured activities
- Ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students
- Assist with off-site activities where required, including travel to residential homes and The HUB
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a specialist educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
- Full UK Driving Licence
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs, ADHD, ASD, or other complex needs
- Knowledge of teaching strategies for students with additional needs
- Experience with behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques
- Experience in a residential or specialist care setting
