The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with complex needs within the Access to Learning Faculty. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and build strong relationships with students and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex needs on a 1:1 basis in class or in a withdrawal space.
  • Work closely with ALF Leaders and other staff to ensure students successfully access the curriculum.
  • Assist in developing individualized learning strategies tailored to student needs.
  • Promote positive behavior and emotional well-being in a supportive and structured environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance support skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behavior regularly.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Access to Learning Faculty through teamwork and shared goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with young people.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a commitment to teamwork.
  • A dedication to promoting equality of opportunity and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with autism or social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Previous experience in an educational or care setting.
