Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teaching team to ensure that the learning environment is appropriate, safe, and engaging.
  • Assist in the delivery of learning and teaching activities as directed by the class teacher.
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies and local procedures.
  • Support the day-to-day care and management of children and young people, including safeguarding.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and other agencies to identify and address additional support needs.
  • Contribute to the planning for individual pupils through Wellbeing Action Plans.
  • Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
  • Assist with other duties relevant to the role of Teaching Assistant.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally with additional support needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a range of individual needs.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in an education setting.
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, or emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • A full driving licence.
  • Experience with wellbeing action planning and individual support strategies.
