The Opportunity:

Join a dedicated team at a therapeutic SEMH Special School where your role as a Teaching Assistant will make a real difference in the lives of students. You will support teachers, help implement behaviour management strategies, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and successful lessons.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support students with complex needs.
  • Engage in interventions both in and out of lessons to foster student participation.
  • Develop positive relationships with students who may be vulnerable.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure student needs are fully met.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with complex needs or special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support the teacher in the classroom.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a therapeutic or SEMH setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
  • Experience with emotional literacy or mental health support.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic working environment.
