Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in the classroom and during learning activities
- Assist with the delivery of individual and group learning sessions
- Promote independence and personal development in students
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent approach to student care
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning resources
- Assist with administrative tasks related to student records and attendance
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A commitment to working with children with sensory impairments
- A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist educational environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from others
- Flexibility and adaptability to support a range of student needs
Preferred
- Previous experience in education or care settings
- Experience working with children with Vision or Hearing Impairment
- Knowledge of sensory impairment education approaches
- Experience in a special needs school setting
- Relevant qualifications or training in teaching support
