Teaching Assistant role at a school offering support for students with complex needs.

The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance, helping them achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with individual learning needs through tailored assistance and encouragement
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver effective learning activities
  • Monitor and record student progress regularly
  • Assist with behavior management and promote positive classroom interactions
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and their families
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students
  • Work flexibly across different key stages and support requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience working in a classroom or educational support setting
  • Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience relevant to teaching and learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions or complex needs
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices
  • Experience in developing individual learning plans
  • Familiarity with behavior management strategies
