Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with moderate learning difficulties and ASD in whole class, group, and one-to-one settings.
- Assist with personal care and hygiene needs, including toileting and nappy changing.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality educational experiences.
- Monitor and support student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Facilitate access to learning by responding to individual needs and aspirations.
- Contribute to the wider curriculum and enrichment activities that support student development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working in a special or mainstream education setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to support students with emotional, social, and mental health needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a busy and dynamic environment.
Preferred
- Knowledge of SEN and experience working with students with moderate learning difficulties and ASD.
- Experience in providing support for personal care and hygiene needs.
- Background in teaching or education-related vocational training.
- Understanding of the importance of cultural capital and preparation for adulthood.
