The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with special needs in a dynamic and caring educational setting. You will contribute to creating a positive learning environment that helps students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs during lessons and activities.
- Assist in planning and delivering individualized learning programs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students as required.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure consistent support.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Support students in developing life skills and independence.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young people with special needs or learning disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience working with young people on the autistic spectrum.
- Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
- Previous experience in a school or care setting.
