The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs during lessons and activities.
  • Assist in planning and delivering individualized learning programs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students as required.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure consistent support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Support students in developing life skills and independence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young people with special needs or learning disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience working with young people on the autistic spectrum.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Previous experience in a school or care setting.
