The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to male students, helping them succeed in both academic and social settings. You will assist in the classroom and lead engaging activities that cater to boys' interests and strengths. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the classroom to support student learning and engagement
- Facilitate activities outside of lessons that cater to boys’ interests and strengths
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage confidence and a love of learning
- Support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum aligned to the Curriculum for Wales
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure students receive consistent and effective support
- Promote emotional regulation, communication skills, and individual resilience
- Participate in therapeutic activities such as Forest School, Art, and creative play therapy
- Support students with additional learning needs, including those with ASD and ADHD
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational or therapeutic setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Full UK driving licence
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or learning support
- Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales
- Experience working with students with additional learning needs
- Experience in therapeutic or creative activities such as Forest School or Art therapy
- Previous experience in a residential or specialist school setting
