The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with learning difficulties in a dynamic and growing environment. Your role will be vital in helping students achieve their full potential and meet the high standards of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with complex learning difficulties in a structured and inclusive environment.
- Assist in the delivery of individualized learning plans tailored to each student’s needs.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent and effective approach to student care.
- Promote positive behavior and encourage student engagement in learning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with staff.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to develop professional skills.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with varying abilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good understanding of SEND education principles or a willingness to learn and develop in this area.
- Experience working with students with learning difficulties or special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards teaching and student support.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior staff.
Preferred
- Experience in a special needs or inclusive education setting.
- Knowledge of Education, Healthcare Plans (EHCP) and their implementation.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies for students with complex needs.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
