The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you will support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff. You will contribute to an enriching learning experience and help promote the school’s vision and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the needs of pupils as directed by the SENCO, promoting the school's vision and values.
- Work with teachers to support teaching and learning, including delivering learning activities within the overall teaching plan.
- Provide support for pupils with a variety of needs, including communication, cognition, physical, sensory, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Work in the classroom or appropriate location within the school, with access to support and guidance as required.
- Assist in the management of pupils and the classroom under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Contribute to the development of individual learning plans and support the implementation of strategies to aid pupil progress.
- Engage in professional development and training to enhance support for pupils and improve teaching and learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with teaching staff and parents/carers regarding pupil progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in teaching support or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a classroom or learning support environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s vision and values, including “Being our Best”.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
- Familiarity with inclusive education practices and strategies.
- Experience in delivering learning activities or supporting small group instruction.
- Knowledge of educational frameworks and support systems.
