The Opportunity:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our growing team and support students with autism and complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new school and contribute to shaping its future. You will play a vital role in ensuring students receive the support they need to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering purposeful and meaningful educational experiences for students with autism and learning difficulties.
- Assist with the management of positive behaviour and implement tailored approaches to individual student needs.
- Promote the welfare and safeguarding of students in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with the education team to ensure the smooth running of classes and school activities.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the school as it expands its provision.
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students in line with their individual education plans.
- Assist with administrative and organisational tasks as required.
- Work flexibly and adapt to the needs of the school and its students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good standard of English and Maths, with strong communication skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Experience in managing behaviour, including behaviour that challenges.
- Experience working within an educational setting.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Relevant experience working with students with autism and learning difficulties.
- Experience in a multi-cultural and inclusive environment.
- Knowledge of specialist education provision and therapeutic support.
- Experience with teaching assistants or support roles in schools.
- Confidence in using ICT and digital tools for teaching and learning.
