The Opportunity:
A Teaching Assistant is needed to support students with specific learning needs, social, emotional, and mental health challenges, and engagement needs. This role plays a vital part in helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential within Key Stage 3 & 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with specific learning needs, social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Provide classroom and pastoral support across various curriculum programmes.
- Deliver targeted interventions to help students overcome learning barriers.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure consistent support for students.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Contribute to the school’s vision of enabling all young people to thrive.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with specific learning needs or social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school's vision and values.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Confidence in supporting student behaviour in a positive manner.
- A proactive and positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of the school’s context and operations.
Preferred
- Experience in a SEND department or similar setting.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust.
- A growth mindset and a commitment to continuous professional development.
