Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in a classroom environment.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery.
  • Promote positive behavior and emotional well-being among students.
  • Work closely with therapists and other support staff to develop individualized care plans.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their learning goals.
  • Provide one-on-one support where needed to help students with specific learning challenges.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in staff training and development programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support both students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Flexibility and resilience to cope with the challenges of working in a supportive education environment.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a classroom or support role.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Experience with teaching or learning support strategies.
  • Understanding of child development and inclusive education practices.
