Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing independence and personal growth through positive, caring interactions.
  • Assist the class teacher in managing classroom activities and promoting a structured, engaging learning environment.
  • Adapt to the diverse needs of students and contribute to the smooth running of the school.
  • Promote students’ cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through tailored support.
  • Respond to changing demands and take part in physical intervention when necessary, with full training provided.
  • Encourage participation in a broad and creative curriculum that supports student engagement and learning.
  • Contribute to the overall aims of the school when required, including additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE in Maths and English at Grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work with children with communication difficulties and a commitment to student well-being.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.

Preferred

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working in a special school environment.
  • Team TEACH Training.
