The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students, especially those with special needs, and assist teachers in managing the classroom. This role plays a key part in ensuring every pupil has access to learning and feels included and valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programmes.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and interact with them in a way that meets their individual needs.
  • Promote inclusivity and acceptance among all students.
  • Encourage pupils to participate in teacher-led activities and interact with peers.
  • Set high expectations and foster independence and self-esteem in students.
  • Work in both classroom and non-classroom settings, including small group and one-to-one support.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the school and support existing processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility to work in different settings and with varying group sizes.

Preferred

  • Experience in an educational setting or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and behaviour management strategies.
  • Experience with developing and implementing individual education plans.
  • Background in teaching English as a Second Language or supporting students with diverse needs.
