Teaching Assistant needed at a special school. Support children with complex needs.

The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with complex needs in a dynamic and challenging environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children through dedicated, compassionate care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning activities in a small group or one-to-one setting
- Assist with managing classroom resources and preparing materials for lessons
- Support students during educational trips and visits
- Provide social and emotional support by eating lunch with students who struggle socially
- Maintain a safe and positive environment through effective behaviour management
- Create and implement activities that support social skills and learning
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and deliver engaging lessons
- Participate in ongoing therapeutic training and reflective practice
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children with complex needs and challenging behaviours
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and de-escalate difficult situations
- Good understanding of English and Maths
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Preferred
- Experience in a special educational needs setting
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
- Experience with therapeutic support techniques
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
