Teaching Assistant role at a special school supporting children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs in a structured and inclusive environment
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver individualized learning plans and support classroom activities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum tailored to students' specific needs
  • Provide one-to-one support to students to enhance their learning and independence
  • Contribute to a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and progress
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching strategies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Level 4 or equivalent in English and Math’s (desirable)
  • Ability to work effectively with children and young people with additional and complex needs
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and resilient with a good sense of humour
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development

Preferred

  • Experience working in a special education setting
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and curriculum design
  • Experience supporting students with autism or PMLD
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and inclusive teaching strategies
