Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learning and teaching across the curriculum, particularly for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist in planning, reviewing, and delivering curriculum content in 1:1 or small group settings.
  • Provide emotional, behavioral, and welfare support to students as needed.
  • Ensure that SEND support aligns with the school’s self-directed learning philosophy.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and support student health and safety during school hours.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Prior experience as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
  • Understanding of special educational needs as defined in the SEN Code of Practice.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with self-directed learning frameworks.
  • Familiarity with technology-enhanced learning environments.
