Key Responsibilities:
- Support learning and teaching across the curriculum, particularly for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Assist in planning, reviewing, and delivering curriculum content in 1:1 or small group settings.
- Provide emotional, behavioral, and welfare support to students as needed.
- Ensure that SEND support aligns with the school’s self-directed learning philosophy.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and support student health and safety during school hours.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Prior experience as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
- Understanding of special educational needs as defined in the SEN Code of Practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and support students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with self-directed learning frameworks.
- Familiarity with technology-enhanced learning environments.
