Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils’ learning and development both within and outside the classroom.
  • Implement agreed learning programmes for individuals and groups, including those requiring specialist support.
  • Assist teachers with planning, resource preparation, and management.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Supervise whole classes on occasion during teacher absences, ensuring good order and focus.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Promote the welfare and safeguarding of children at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in teaching assistance or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching or supporting pupils in a school environment.
  • Initiative and adaptability in a dynamic setting.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and resource development.
