Key Responsibilities:
- Support students through one-to-one or small group sessions to enhance their learning and engagement.
- Prepare and organise educational materials and resources to aid classroom instruction.
- Encourage active participation and involvement in class activities.
- Implement strategies that promote learning and enjoyment of the subject matter.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to support the academic and personal development of students.
- Provide pastoral support where appropriate to ensure student wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with teaching staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant (essential)
- GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- A positive, patient, and encouraging approach
- Commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
Preferred
- Further qualifications relating to SEN and/or child protection
- Experience implementing strategies to support learning and enjoyment
- Ability to inspire confidence and act as a positive role model for younger pupils
