Summary:

Teaching Assistant job opportunity with a focus on supporting students with autism and SEMH conditions.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students across all key stages in a dynamic and impactful role. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with autism and SEMH conditions, working as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students’ safety, welfare, and emotional regulation.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Work closely with the education and wellbeing teams to support student engagement and progress.
  • Develop and implement activities that promote emotional regulation and holistic development.
  • Maintain positive, supportive relationships with students and act as a role model.
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure consistency in student support and behaviour management.
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children and young people with social/emotional difficulties and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including basic ICT proficiency.
  • Demonstrated emotional availability and resilience.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

Preferred

  • Previous experience supporting students in a classroom setting.
  • Experience with autism or SEMH conditions.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
