Teaching Assistant role with a focus on SEND and EAL support.

The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers, helping to create an environment where every student can thrive. This position involves providing academic and welfare support, managing interventions, and contributing to individualised learning plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering planned learning activities and monitoring student progress.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualised support plans for students with special educational needs and English as an additional language.
  • Provide social and emotional well-being support to students as needed.
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as eating, dressing, and hygiene when required.
  • Support students in intervention settings like the Bridge and PLC.
  • Escort and supervise students on educational visits and invigilate formal examinations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a school environment or with children and young people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work flexibly.
  • Proficiency in using standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data protection regulations.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with children with special needs or challenging behaviours.
  • Willingness to undertake training to support students with medical or care plan agreements.
