The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant INA/EAL to support students in developing English language skills and accessing learning. This role is essential in helping pupils achieve their full potential within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of English language acquisition programmes for INA/EAL students.
- Assist in implementing synthetic phonics and other language development strategies.
- Work closely with lead teaching assistants and senior staff to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation.
- Monitor and support individual and group progress in language development.
- Contribute to the planning and organisation of teaching and learning activities.
- Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in education or related field.
- Experience working with INA/EAL students or in a similar educational support role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of classroom management and teaching strategies.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching English as a second language.
- Familiarity with synthetic phonics teaching methods.
- Previous experience in a secondary school setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
