The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant INA/EAL to support students in developing English language skills and accessing learning. This role is essential in helping pupils achieve their full potential within a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of English language acquisition programmes for INA/EAL students.
  • Assist in implementing synthetic phonics and other language development strategies.
  • Work closely with lead teaching assistants and senior staff to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation.
  • Monitor and support individual and group progress in language development.
  • Contribute to the planning and organisation of teaching and learning activities.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in education or related field.
  • Experience working with INA/EAL students or in a similar educational support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of classroom management and teaching strategies.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching English as a second language.
  • Familiarity with synthetic phonics teaching methods.
  • Previous experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
