The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support class teachers in creating a nurturing and safe learning environment for pupils in the Preparatory School. This temporary role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ education and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist class teachers in delivering lessons and supporting pupils during class time.
  • Support pupils with individual learning needs and help them achieve their full potential.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour to class teachers.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and the organisation of classroom resources.
  • Support pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and other school activities.
  • Work closely with other teaching and support staff to ensure a consistent approach to pupil care.
  • Promote the school’s values of kindness, respect, and self-discipline.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • The ability to work flexibly and independently within a team.
  • A relevant qualification or experience in teaching or education support.

Preferred

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience working in a school environment, particularly in a Preparatory School.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
