Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individual pupils or small groups with tailored learning assistance.
  • Prepare and organise learning resources to enhance student engagement.
  • Assist with reading, writing, and numeracy tasks to reinforce learning outcomes.
  • Help students access the curriculum and overcome learning barriers.
  • Promote positive relationships and build confidence in pupils.
  • Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school trips under supervision.
  • Support classroom management and create a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people.
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and a good listener.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organised.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with students aged 11-18.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience working 1:1 with students with highly complex SEN needs.
  • Team Teach Level 1 or 2 trained (or willingness to complete training).
  • ELSA trained (or willingness to complete training).
  • Experience planning and running interventions with small groups.
