The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant - Temporary, you will support students and teachers in creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with young children and contributing to a school that prioritizes academic excellence and international education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing critical thinking, creativity, and social skills through guided activities and group work.
  • Assist in identifying and responding to the learning support needs of pupils, ensuring they can access the learning environment effectively.
  • Promote positive behavior, self-regulation, and conflict resolution among students.
  • Work closely with class teachers to develop and implement learning support programmes.
  • Contribute to the planning and setup of engaging learning environments that reflect students' interests and needs.
  • Provide basic clerical and administrative support, including photocopying, filing, and communication with parents.
  • Administer first aid and medication under supervision, and manage toileting and hygiene needs as required.
  • Support the school's ethos and policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and equal opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • NVQ3 or equivalent childcare qualification.
  • Experience working with or caring for children in the primary years age range.
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
  • Secure knowledge of young children’s development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety policies.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working in a school setting.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
