The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant - Temporary, you will support students and teachers in creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with young children and contributing to a school that prioritizes academic excellence and international education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in developing critical thinking, creativity, and social skills through guided activities and group work.
- Assist in identifying and responding to the learning support needs of pupils, ensuring they can access the learning environment effectively.
- Promote positive behavior, self-regulation, and conflict resolution among students.
- Work closely with class teachers to develop and implement learning support programmes.
- Contribute to the planning and setup of engaging learning environments that reflect students' interests and needs.
- Provide basic clerical and administrative support, including photocopying, filing, and communication with parents.
- Administer first aid and medication under supervision, and manage toileting and hygiene needs as required.
- Support the school's ethos and policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and equal opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- NVQ3 or equivalent childcare qualification.
- Experience working with or caring for children in the primary years age range.
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
- Secure knowledge of young children’s development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety policies.
Preferred
- Previous experience working in a school setting.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
