The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Technician to support the Design and Technology, Food Technology, and Art departments. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, practical environment and is ideal for someone with an interest in progressing into teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of practical lessons and support the school’s technical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teaching staff and students in the preparation and delivery of practical lessons.
- Provide day-to-day support across the Design and Technology, Food Technology, and Art departments.
- Support general technical needs across the school when required.
- Ensure all equipment and materials are maintained and available for lessons.
- Collaborate with department heads to enhance the learning experience.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment in all technical areas.
- Participate in training and development opportunities as required.
- Contribute to the overall success of the school’s practical and creative subjects.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in a practical or technical role.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Experience with design and technology or related subjects.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Background in teaching or a desire to train as a teacher.
- Familiarity with art, design, or food technology equipment and techniques.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
