The Opportunity:
A Theatre Teacher is sought to inspire students aged 8 to 18 in both IB Theatre and Lower School Drama. This role offers the chance to contribute to a vibrant performing arts department and shape the next generation of theatre enthusiasts through innovative teaching and leadership in student productions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach IB Theatre (Standard and Higher Levels) within the IB Diploma Programme.
- Deliver Pre-IB and Lower School drama courses that foster creativity, imagination, and performance skills.
- Direct whole-school performances and support student productions using state-of-the-art facilities.
- Encourage students to explore theatre as both an academic and artistic discipline.
- Collaborate with arts and technical teams to enhance student learning and performance experiences.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in clubs, cultural events, and student well-being.
- Support the development of students' academic and personal growth through theatre education.
- Promote a culture of excellence, diversity, and collaboration in the performing arts department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in Theatre, Performing Arts, or a related field with relevant teaching qualification(s).
- Experience teaching IB Theatre or willingness to train in the IB curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to direct student productions and foster a love of performance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in an international, bilingual (English-French) setting.
- Commitment to a holistic educational philosophy that values creativity, discipline, and the arts.
- Enthusiastic and dynamic personality with the ability to engage students of all ages.
Preferred
- Experience with bilingual education and teaching in an international school setting.
- Proficiency in French.
- Experience with residential school environments and student well-being.
- Familiarity with boarding school culture and extracurricular programming.
