The Opportunity:
As a Theatre Technician, you will provide essential technical support across a range of school events and productions. This role requires a hands-on, team-oriented individual who can manage lighting, sound, and AV systems while maintaining a high standard of performance and safety. The position is ideal for someone passionate about theatre and events, with a willingness to work flexibly across different departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in set construction and scenic work for school productions and events.
- Operate and maintain lighting, sound, and AV equipment during performances and events.
- Rig and plot technical elements for stage productions and school functions.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of theatre and AV equipment.
- Support events across the school, including front of house and box office duties.
- Collaborate with staff and students to ensure seamless event execution.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols during all technical operations.
- Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in theatre or event technical support.
- Strong knowledge of lighting, sound, and AV systems.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive and proactive attitude, even during repetitive or physically demanding tasks.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during school holidays.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Familiarity with stage management or production coordination.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience with set construction or scenic design.
Compensation & Benefits:
