The Opportunity:
As a Theatre Technician, you will be responsible for managing and operating theatre and AV equipment to support lessons, performances, and events. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the technical success of creative learning and school productions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, rig, operate, and maintain theatre and AV equipment
- Manage technical aspects of live performances, including lighting, sound, and projection
- Support student coursework as a recording engineer
- Assist with AV setup for lessons, presentations, and school events
- Train and supervise pupils in technical roles
- Maintain and upgrade AV and printing equipment across the site
- Provide technical teaching support in music technology and drama
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in theatre or AV technical work
- Knowledge of sound and lighting equipment
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- A proactive, “can-do” attitude
Preferred
- Ability to teach and coach others in AV use
- Experience working in an educational setting
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
