The Opportunity:

As a Theatre Technician, you will be responsible for managing and operating theatre and AV equipment to support lessons, performances, and events. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the technical success of creative learning and school productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, rig, operate, and maintain theatre and AV equipment
  • Manage technical aspects of live performances, including lighting, sound, and projection
  • Support student coursework as a recording engineer
  • Assist with AV setup for lessons, presentations, and school events
  • Train and supervise pupils in technical roles
  • Maintain and upgrade AV and printing equipment across the site
  • Provide technical teaching support in music technology and drama

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in theatre or AV technical work
  • Knowledge of sound and lighting equipment
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • A proactive, “can-do” attitude

Preferred

  • Ability to teach and coach others in AV use
  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
