The Opportunity:

Join a school dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Economics educators. As a Trainee Economics Teacher, you will gain hands-on classroom experience while working toward Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through a partnership with South Farnham SCITT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Economics lessons aligned with the Edexcel specification.
  • Support students of all abilities through differentiated instruction and personalized learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with experienced colleagues in the Economics and Business Department to enhance teaching practice.
  • Participate in weekly training sessions with SCITT specialists to build pedagogical expertise.
  • Engage students in co-curricular activities such as enterprise clubs, essay competitions, and guest speaker events.
  • Contribute to the department’s strong academic results and commitment to excellence.
  • Attend and lead professional development opportunities, including conferences and training programs.
  • Maintain a well-organized and resource-rich classroom environment with modern teaching tools.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree (2:2 or above) or working toward one.
  • Commitment to developing as a reflective and skilled teacher.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support student learning.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching Economics or related subjects.
  • Experience with the Edexcel specification at A Level.
  • Background in co-curricular activities or student leadership.
  • Previous involvement in teacher training or professional development programs.
