The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic Science department as a Trainee Maths Teacher on a one-year pathway to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This role combines practical teaching experience with structured training, offering mentorship and a supportive environment for new educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Maths lessons to 16-to-19-year-old students on a reduced timetable.
- Participate in weekly training sessions at the St Charles Borromeo Teaching Hub.
- Work closely with a dedicated mentor to develop teaching skills and subject knowledge.
- Engage in general practice and subject-specific training to support your progression towards QTS.
- Contribute to a vibrant, inclusive, and multi-cultural learning community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Commitment to becoming an active and innovative teacher.
- Passion for Maths and a desire to inspire students.
- Eligibility for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and willingness to complete the full training course.
- Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting students in a classroom setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with teaching Maths at GCSE or A-level standard.
- Familiarity with Catholic values and inclusive education practices.

- Competitive salary at Unqualified Teachers Pay Scale Point 1: £28,342, inclusive of Inner London Weighting.
