The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a Trainee Physical Education Teacher (PGCE) to join its team and contribute to a vibrant and successful educational community. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain Qualified Teacher Status while supporting students through a comprehensive extra-curricular programme and engaging in a wide range of school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in developing physical education skills and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons aligned with the school’s educational goals.
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme, including sports such as Hockey, Rugby, Netball, Cricket, Athletics, Tennis, and Swimming.
- Participate in the management of boarding houses and weekend activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through INSET training and other opportunities.
- Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support student well-being and academic success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification.
- Eligibility to undertake a PGCE programme.
- A proactive approach to working with young people and a passion for teaching and sports.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- A qualification or interest in one of the school’s core sports: Hockey, Rugby, Netball, Cricket, Athletics, Tennis, or Swimming.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
