University Guidance Counsellor needed to support students in achieving successful university placements globally.

The Opportunity:

As a University Guidance Counsellor, you will play a key role in guiding students through the university application process, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. You will work closely with students, families, and the school community to ensure each student is supported in finding the best-fit university pathway globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive university guidance programme tailored to student needs.
  • Support students in writing personal statements, securing letters of recommendation, and submitting applications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with universities and the wider education community.
  • Collaborate with the school’s teaching and support staff to integrate university guidance into the curriculum.
  • Engage with parents and students to provide clear, consistent, and strategic advice on university options and application processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the application journey.
  • Promote the school’s values and mission through effective communication and leadership in the guidance programme.
  • Ensure compliance with visa-related requirements and other legal and administrative procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status and a relevant degree.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in university guidance or student support services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in careers curriculum development or parental engagement.
  • Familiarity with international university application processes.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Knowledge of Vietnamese culture and language is an advantage.
  • Experience with global education networks or partnerships.
