The Opportunity:

As a University Guidance Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students through the university application process. This is a key position that shapes the academic futures of students and ensures they gain admission to top universities worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the university application process for secondary students, including advising on course selection and application timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and faculty to ensure personalized guidance and support.
  • Design and implement university counseling programs that align with the school’s mission and the needs of students.
  • Analyze university admission requirements and financial aid policies globally to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Coordinate with external universities and admissions officers to ensure smooth communication and support for students.
  • Provide professional and confidential counseling on academic, career, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with the school’s faculty and administration to support student success and transition to higher education.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to student applications and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant experience working at schools and/or tertiary institutions, including experience in university guidance operations.
  • Strong knowledge of university systems, academic programs, admission policies, and financial procedures worldwide.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively and professionally communicating with a variety of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, case work, and team work skills.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and highly proactive.

Preferred

  • University guidance and counseling experience in a bilingual or international school setting.
  • Experience with the IB Diploma Programme and university admissions in Asia or the West.
