The Opportunity:
As Vice Principal, you will lead the day-to-day operations of a prestigious international school, shaping its strategic direction while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and student wellbeing. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about education leadership and committed to making a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations of the school, ensuring a well-organised, safe, and positive environment that supports student learning and wellbeing
- Provide visible and effective leadership, modelling professionalism, integrity, and the school’s values in all areas of school life
- Work in close partnership with Directors of Studies and Boarding to ensure cohesion, excellence, and consistency across academic and residential programmes
- Oversee teaching and learning standards, promoting high expectations, innovative pedagogy, and consistent quality across departments
- Support the professional growth of staff through mentoring, performance development, and a culture of collaboration and reflection
- Contribute to the strategic development of the school, working with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team to implement the school’s long-term vision and improvement plans
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between academic, boarding, and pastoral teams, promoting a holistic approach to student development
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards, acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer and ensuring a culture of safety and care
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and extensive experience in international secondary education
- Honours Degree; master’s in education or educational leadership preferred
- Certification or extensive experience with the IB DP programme
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and commitment to child protection
Preferred
- Experience with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)
- Experience in a boarding school environment
- Previous experience as an IB Coordinator or equivalent leadership role
- Familiarity with NEASC accreditation and data-informed school improvement
- Proficiency with digital tools for teaching, learning, and management
- Working knowledge of French
