The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Visiting Music Teacher to deliver high-quality guitar and bass lessons to students across all year groups. This is an opportunity to inspire young musicians and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive music program that values accessibility and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring guitar and bass lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Uphold the school’s values and ethos, including commitment to inclusivity and Gospel principles.
  • Maintain a high standard of teaching and ensure students achieve their musical potential.
  • Collaborate with the Subject Leader for Music to support the school’s music curriculum.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents on progress and development.
  • Ensure lessons are structured, safe, and aligned with the school’s educational goals.
  • Encourage a love of music and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Be available to teach both individual and shared lessons as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience teaching guitar and bass to grade 8.
  • Ability to teach a second instrument to grade 5.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.
  • DBS check and willingness to undergo an enhanced check.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with music education frameworks and curricula.
  • Experience with remote or hybrid teaching methods.
  • Understanding of inclusive education practices.
  • Ability to provide additional support for students through bursary funds.
