Summary:

Wellbeing Coordinator needed to support students across all key stages at a school.

About the School:

A school is dedicated to supporting learners aged 19 to 25 with individualised programmes that focus on preparing them for independent living and employment. Community-based learning is central to the school’s ethos, offering practical, hands-on experiences and work-based learning opportunities.

The Opportunity:

A Wellbeing Coordinator is sought to provide essential support to students across all key stages, ensuring they receive targeted interventions that promote mental health and emotional resilience. This role is integral to the school’s commitment to student wellbeing and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver specific interventions, including anxiety management, relaxation strategies, and mindfulness, in collaboration with the pastoral intervention lead.
  • Train and support ELSAs (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants) and work with them to provide cohesive wellbeing interventions.
  • Lead on student mentoring provision by providing guidelines and materials to staff and monitoring student/staff allocations.
  • Track student wellbeing using tools such as PPP, MFQ, and WHO5.
  • Support staff in completing behaviour support plans and ensure clear planning, goal setting, and written records of all interventions.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and share relevant student information with professional colleagues during case conference meetings.
  • Support DSLs (Designated Safeguarding Leads) and DDSLs (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads) with safeguarding responsibilities across the school.
  • Communicate with external agencies to share information and collaborate on student support.
  • Evaluate and review interventions regularly, implementing new and improved methods based on best practice and evidence-based research.
  • Support students who are unable to access school and undertake home visits if required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in delivering wellbeing interventions and support to students
  • Strong understanding of mental health and emotional resilience strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external agencies
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with additional needs or learning difficulties
  • Knowledge of emotional literacy support strategies
  • Experience in mentoring or coaching students
  • Familiarity with wellbeing assessment tools such as PPP, MFQ, and WHO5
  • Experience in developing and reviewing intervention programmes
