The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Year 1 Class Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis, starting in February 2025. This role is ideal for a qualified teacher who is creative, forward-thinking, and eager to contribute to a supportive school community. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that inspires young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high-quality, creative curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Manage and lead a Year 1 class with a focus on fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Plan and implement engaging lessons that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through ongoing, formative assessment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support professional development.
  • Lead and contribute to the teaching of geography and history as part of the school's curriculum.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure effective learning outcomes for all students.
  • Promote a school ethos that values creativity, innovation, and global citizenship.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in primary education.
  • Proven ability to deliver an engaging and creative curriculum.
  • Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
  • Experience in leading geography and history lessons.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with outdoor learning and Forest School environments.
  • Experience with peer coaching or mentoring other staff members.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning approaches.
