The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to provide temporary maternity cover in a dynamic and forward-thinking All-Through school. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners while working with a passionate and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Year 1, in line with the school’s values and curriculum.
- Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Lead one after-school club per week to support student engagement and development.
- Implement innovative teaching strategies and use technology to enhance learning.
- Maintain effective behavior management and create an inspiring classroom environment.
- Manage administrative tasks efficiently and meet all deadlines.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos and extra-curricular activities.
- Support the development of the school’s Forest School program and wider curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a valid teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in teaching Year 1 or equivalent.
- Strong commitment to the school’s values of nurture, challenge, and inspire.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively and create a positive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in an All-Through school setting.
- Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment processes.
- Experience with Forest School or outdoor learning.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Confidence in using digital tools to support teaching and learning.
