The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to provide temporary maternity cover in a dynamic and forward-thinking All-Through school. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners while working with a passionate and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Year 1, in line with the school’s values and curriculum.
  • Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Lead one after-school club per week to support student engagement and development.
  • Implement innovative teaching strategies and use technology to enhance learning.
  • Maintain effective behavior management and create an inspiring classroom environment.
  • Manage administrative tasks efficiently and meet all deadlines.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos and extra-curricular activities.
  • Support the development of the school’s Forest School program and wider curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a valid teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Year 1 or equivalent.
  • Strong commitment to the school’s values of nurture, challenge, and inspire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage behavior effectively and create a positive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in an All-Through school setting.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment processes.
  • Experience with Forest School or outdoor learning.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Confidence in using digital tools to support teaching and learning.
