The Opportunity:

A Year 3 Primary Teacher (SEN Specialist) is needed to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and well-resourced school. This role offers the chance to work with small class sizes and a dedicated team focused on student wellbeing and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach core subjects to a Year 3 class with a maximum of 6 pupils, supported by a classroom assistant.
  • Deliver engaging, practical lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and de-escalate challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
  • Plan and implement targeted interventions to support students with SEMH and SEN needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other specialist teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to the development of EHCPs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience working with SEMH/SEN pupils.
  • Strong knowledge of English, Maths, Science, and Humanities.
  • Ability to manage behaviour and de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Creative and engaging teaching style with strong differentiation skills.
  • Experience in planning and delivering hands-on, practical lessons.

Preferred

  • Experience with EHCPs and targeted interventions.
  • Confidence in working within a small team and collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to inclusion and student success.
